Ty Gleezy Aims To Expand National Efforts To Boost Minority Communities
Tyrese James Hampton, professionally known as Ty Gleezy. Ty is a young but experienced singer, songwriter and designer, with more than ten years of experience in the entertainment industry.
But in the fall of 2019, while in Massachusetts, Gleezy was arrested. He was charged with three felonies that read as one count of possession of a loaded firearm and two counts of possession of a large capacity fire arm.
It was reported that while on an outing with some close acquaintances an altercation allegedly erupted between Ty and a few people. This altercation allegedly took place in Springfield on Pine Street. The altercation grabbed the attention of some residents. Gleezy reportedly left the site of the altercation alone to diffuse the situation. But his efforts to distance himself was met by an arrest.
Although Ty allegedly was in possession of a large capacity firearm, the altercation resulted in no serious injuries and no witnesses co-operated the presence of a gun prior to the arrest. The artist was placed under custody where he then contacted his cousin.
The Setbacks
In the last few months, there has been a barrage of state and federal court orders affected by COVID-19. One of these cases that were impacted was Ty Gleezy’s. While many hearings were conducted by video conference or by telephone, there are quite a few restrictions.
Both courts, criminal and civil cases, scheduled to begin between March 13th and May 1st , 2020 had to last until a date no earlier than May 4th , 2020, unless the trial was a bench trial. Any jury trial that began but did not result in a verdict by March 17th, 2020, a mistrial was held. With other related proceedings halted.
On May 4th , 2020, the only in-person hearings in state courthouses in Massachusetts would have been to discuss emergency problems that cannot be resolved by videoconferencing or telephone hearing.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court complied with all restriction laws from March 17th , through May 3rd , 2020. Therefore, all deadlines set in laws or court rules, standing orders or directives that would expire on or before 4th, May 2020 had been tolled.
Separate orders were given for each trial section. Such instructions are usually restrictive. What does this mean for Ty?
It means that like many Americans that are processed through the justice system his future is uncertain. Without a definite court date to continue his case he cannot possibly move on with his life. But never-less Ty is continuing to remain on course to his goal. His long-term ambition is to become a national musician. He wants to use his tireless efforts to bring more dignity and autonomy to the victims of gang violence. Through his platform, he aims to expand national efforts to boost minority communities. Ty has reached the lives of thousands with his bravery, and in the years to come, he will continue to reach a thousand more.
The last update that we received was that his next court date was postponed indefinitely until late August.
